Featured Project: Voice-activated Shifting

University of Dayton +
Marine Corps Veteran
Tim Brown

  • After losing both legs, his right arm, and part of his left hand, Tim had difficulty shifting gears on his custom hand-cycle.

  • Engineering students at the University of Dayton created a voice-activated electronic shifting system.

  • Tim is now able to shift gears using voice commands, making his rides smoother and more enjoyable.
