A Special Veterans Day Message from QL Plus

U.S. Navy Veteran Judy Lemley

Today, as we pause to honor the service and sacrifices of our veterans, I am reminded of the courageous individuals who inspire our work at QL Plus every day.

Veterans like Judy Lemley, a U.S. Navy veteran who faced new challenges in her beloved game of golf after a woodworking accident left her with an amputated finger. Thanks to the QL Plus team and engineering students at Virginia Commonwealth University, Judy is on her way to a pain-free swing with a custom grip device designed to reduce vibrations and strengthen her hold.

And Pat Kelly, a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who needed additional support to eliminate vibrations that caused him to black out while using his handcycle. QL Plus engineering students made a specialized headrest allowing him to ride comfortably and confidently.

These veterans, who have selflessly served our country, now face new battles — often ones that require reimagining what freedom and independence look like in their daily lives.

At QL Plus, we are privileged to work alongside engineering students across the nation to design adaptive devices that meet the unique needs of our injured veterans, empowering them to embrace life’s opportunities with confidence and renewed capability. From innovative prosthetic solutions to adaptive tools that restore lost abilities, these projects are more than just technical achievements; they’re lifelines to dignity and resilience.

This Veterans Day, I invite you to join us in honoring our veterans by supporting the mission of QL Plus. Your donation — no matter the size — will directly impact the lives of veterans who need these adaptive solutions.

Thanks to a generous matching gift from one of our donors, all donations this Veterans Day will be doubled (up to $2,500), allowing us to reach even more veterans in need.

And for those of you who are affiliated with veterans, the Department of Veterans Affairs just released a list of Veterans Day deals and discounts available all month for veterans, families, caregivers, and survivors — from restaurants and retailers to car care and travel. Be sure to verify offers with each business, as availability may vary by location.

Thank you for standing with us as we work to enhance the quality of life for those who have given so much. Together, we can ensure that the freedom they fought for is returned to them in every possible way.
