Virginia Western Community College students developing equipment for U.S. paralympic athlete

Virginia Western Community College engineering students are collaborating with QL Plus to design adaptive sports equipment for Team USA Boccia athlete and veteran Dan Castillo, enhancing his competitive edge for the 2024 Paris Paralympics. Castillo, a C-4 quadriplegic, will benefit from a custom headstick and headset that enables him to execute a variety of shots in this fast-growing Paralympic sport.
